GOOD NEIGHBOR PROJECT

Good Neighbor is a fieldguide designed to be a resource for those who want to take a deeper dive into their neighborhoods and communities — to know the people and faces and actively engage the challenges and opportunities. Take the framework and make it your own. Bring your own context to life as you adapt and use these Guided Conversations, Immersion Experiences and Action Project Roadmap to explore how to be a Good Neighbor.

GOOD NEIGHBOR COHORTS

In this season, many of us are asking: What does it look like to be there for our communities? How can we be a good neighbor?

The Good Neighbor Fieldguide is a framework to guide you and your neighbors as you come together to identify the unique resources in your community and to activate them in creative projects. Imagine a fruit picking project to harvest and distribute food; a pop-up drive thru or a community art project — The ideas will be as innovative and diverse as your neighborhoods.

In response to what’s happening in our communities with COVID-19 we want to try an experiment… There are so many creative, compassionate people wanting to respond to the changing needs and opportunities around us. So, this June, we’re launching Good Neighbor cohorts in neighborhoods across San Antonio to bring people together to imagine the possibilities in their communities. And we want you to get involved!

COHORT OPPORTUNITIES

Each cohort will meet as a group (online or in-person depending on current social-distancing recommendations and what your group decides); receive a digital copy of the Fieldguide; and access to an online portal for sharing resources and ideas with other groups around the city. We emphasize the word EXPERIMENT above because we’ll all be learning together. We’d love to have your voice and creativity in the mix!
